Piracy: The Worst Nightmare In The Movie Industry
Film piracy is still happening a lot and is still often found in the film industry. This causes all parties such as directors, production houses, and actors to feel a loss due to film piracy, which is certainly very illegal because it is not worth the hard work when the film was made. Currently in Indonesia, to make 1 film to be shown in theaters on average, it is issued up to 2-3 billion. Not only does it require a lot of funds, but filming also takes a very long time and even takes years to create maximum results.
According to Edwin Nazir, a Film Producer and Chairman of the Indonesian Film Producers Association, film piracy is still a serious problem in Indonesia.
Edwin said in a talk with the Clubhouse on Thursday: "If examined, the first challenge is the lack of Human Resources".
Most people want the facility to watch movies comfortably and affordably. Nowadays there are also many applications to watch movies even though they are paid but it includes legal sites, but not a few people object to spending their money by watching movies legally on promising sites. Then there are websites that are illegal by providing movies that are rife without paying before watching. Piracy is carried out when we take the copyright of others without asking permission from the party concerned, in other words, piracy has the aim of reaping personal benefits. Young people who become the next generation of the nation must understand that piracy must stop. Basically, piracy will affect the quality of films in the country as well as the country's economic problems. As wise citizens and moviegoers should appreciate the film industry and avoid piracy and the use of illegal streaming sites, however, in order to protect our accounts free from viruses. Although paid, using legal sites to watch movies or watching in public cinemas can reduce the biggest issues in the country such as movie piracy.
